The La Liga winners are in the market for a new striker and have prioritised signing Julián Alvarez.

Atlético Madrid continue to publicly maintain their firm stance, forcing the Catalan club to look at alternatives. When discussing options, Víctor Navarro mentions Viktor Gyökeres, Inter Milan star Lautaro Martínez and Club Brugge’s Nicolò Tresoldi as Barcelona’s options.

The journalist shares more updates about the Sweden international’s chances of joining Barcelona for Cope.

Barca sporting director Deco is already pursuing other strikers. The former Sporting man is an option because he ‘wants to leave’ the Emirates and is offering himself to Hansi Flick’s side.

The 28-year-old’s agent wants to meet Deco, but the director isn’t considering signing him just yet.

Deco and the Spanish giants could change their stance on Gyökeres towards the end of the window because of ‘his desire to leave’ Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal starter already flattered with transfer links

Last summer, the Gunners signed Viktor Gyökeres, after he and his agent forced a move away from Sporting.

Mikel Arteta started him in 26 of 36 league games and 11 of 13 Champions League matches last season. The frontman finished with 21 goals and three assists from 56 matches.

Earlier in this window, there were claims of the north London club offering the Swede as part of the deal to sign Julián Alvarez.

When asked about the exit links in June, he said: “Of course it’s flattering to see that clubs are interested but I feel extremely comfortable at Arsenal. After the season we have had, I only have positive feelings.”

The Swede’s agent pushed for a move to join Arsenal last summer. A year later, Cope says he is involved in trying to take his client away from the Gunners.

Arteta’s side are unlikely to let Gyökeres leave at this stage of the window.
