On Friday, Gianluca Di Marzio stated Arsenal are ‘ready to offer a €6m salary’ to Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee. The journalist presented the Gunners as a serious contender to sign the player in the summer.
This season, the striker has scored 11 goals and registered six assists from 32 games, and has already drawn attention from clubs in Italy and across Europe.
Arsenal belong to the latter category and their interest is further backed up Corriere dello Sport.
The Serie A side have impressed under Thiago Motta this season as are currently fourth in the table, three points ahead of fifth placed AS Roma.
Motta and a few other players have received interest from elsewhere, and Bologna are said to be worried that there could be a lot of changes after this season.
To give you context, the newspaper states Motta is on the radar of teams including Juventus, Bayern Munich and even Manchester United.
For the 22-year-old Dutchman, Corriere say Arsenal, along with Juve and AC Milan, are ‘fighting’ for his signature.
With Mikel Arteta’s side having an offer ready for Zirkzee, they may overtake the Serie A duo in the transfer race. Meanwhile, Bologna are increasingly worried the frontman will leave in the next window.
