Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr has a contractual agreement in place with Galatasaray and wants to join the Turkish side this summer.

Journalist Nabil Djellit reports that the Crystal Palace forward wants to join Galatasaray this summer and play in the Champions League.

He states that Sarr has reached a contractual agreement with Galatasaray on a four-year deal. the Super Lig side are now focused on trying to secure a deal with Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have initially refused Galatasaray’s advances. But the plan is to now return to Selhurst Park with a ‘more substantial offer’. Theirs is no mention of the nature of that bid.

Potential clash

Djellit then covers recent comments from Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage regarding Ismaila Sarr.

“We will keep him; we will keep him. He’s a really important player for the club and for us. He will be able to play this weekend,” he stated when asked about the 28-year-old.

The journalist, though, argues that is just covering from Sage. He, reportedly, knows that the forward is ‘100% determined’ to join Galatasaray this summer. As far as Djellit is concerned, ‘we’re not safe from a clash’ on the matter.

In other words, he thinks that Sarr could look to force his way out of Crystal Palace this summer should it come to it. Earlier this summer, he was also linked with Fenerbahce.

€45m valuation

The question is what point Crystal Palace potentially get to before they accept that a deal makes sense.

Sarr is undoubtedly a key player but cost just €15m in 2024. There is the prospect of making a big profit on him from Galatasaray this summer. For example, Transfermarkt currently value the Senegal star at €45m.

That is a healthy profit which could be reinvested at the end of the window to reinforce Pierre Sage’s options. For now, it remains to be seen what the next ‘more substantial offer’ looks like.
