Following all the clubs already set to face punishment for not letting their players travel during the international break, Wolves have been pulled into the story.

According to reports from Mexico, the national team is expecting Wolverhampton Wanderers to be penalised by the football authorities as well.

The Molineux side did not agree to let Raul Jimenez travel for the latest games, and since that was communicated, the Mexicans have been showing their dissatisfaction with the situation.

Medio Tempo journalist Francisco Arredondo claims that at Mexico’s headquarters, they expect Wolves to be punished just like other clubs, and be banned from using Jimenez for the coming five days.

The headline of the article states the FMF ‘awaits sanction for Wolves’, which would be the enforcement of the five day rule, and there’s also talk of possible ‘additional sanctions’ for the club.

Mexico are one of the countries on the United Kingdom’s red list, which means Jimenez would have needed to quarantine once he returned from the international duty.

There are hard feelings at the national team because they thought they had a good relationship with Wolves, as they did not call him up during the recovery from his head injury, always at the club’s request.

Now with FIFA standing by their side, like they’ve just done with Brazil and Paraguay, Mexico could easily get their revenge.
