It’s not only the Spanish press who have been publishing stories about Watford loanee Luis Suarez.

Given the striker’s success at Real Zaragoza this season, outlets from his home country Colombia have also been curious about what’s going on.

Suarez moved to Europe at the age of 18, so there are many people in South America who don’t know much about his career.

So Colombian outlet Gol Caracol featured today an interview with AS journalist Javier Marin, who’s explained the player’s form and why he’s been involved in big transfer rumours lately.

“As for his future, it’s true that many clubs have asked about him, but he belongs to Watford. At Zaragoza, they still trust that he’ll play here on loan next season if the promotion is completed, since Watford asks for a lot of money for him, about €50m, and as the market is with the Coronavirus, it’s unlikely that a club will pay that.”

“In this way, there’s the possibility that Suarez will renew and leave on loan. In that case, he’s very comfortable at Real Zaragoza and is the first one who’d like to continue one more season in the case of promotion and if Víctor Fernández continues as coach.”

According to the latest report we’ve covered from Italy, Serie A side Lazio have already reached an agreement with the player, and are now set to negotiate a fee with Watford. These reports keep saying the player is valued at €8-10m, although it sounds too little for a striker who’s been in great form.

Loaned by Watford at the start of the season, Suarez has 17 goals and three assists in 30 appearances for Zaragoza.
