For the last few weeks, reports from Spain and England have named Manchester City as one of the clubs in the race to sign Borussia Dormtund star Jude Bellingham.

Real Madrid are the only candidate from Spain and have been working for months to sign the midfielder.

That’s according to AS, who state the 19-year-old favours Los Blancos over Manchester City in the summer.

The La Liga giants had decided not to enter into a bidding war with Pep Guardiola’s side. Real Madrid’s task, as per the report, has been made easier after the player gave his approval to joining them.

Real Madrid sent a representative to Germany to learn Bellingham’s plans and also sell their project to him. It also served an opportunity for the Madrid club to clear any doubts he has over joining them.

AS state the Spanish giants’ strategy has been effective because Bellingham has ‘decide to park the proposals’ from Manchester City and Liverpool.

With Bellingham’s approval, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will begin to negotiate a deal with BVB.  Real Madrid believe it won’t cost them more than €120m to sign him. If Dortmund were to demand more than this, Real Madrid could distance themselves from this operation.

If Real Madrid were to backout, Manchester City could be given a new opportunity to sign Bellingham.
