Valencia are planning to negotiate with Tottenham Hotspur for Bryan Gil in the January transfer window after missing out on him in the summer.

That’s according to La Razon, who say the player is desperate to return to the La Liga side following his loan spell there last season.

Gil joined Valencia in the second half of last season and quickly established himself as a firm favourite at the Mestalla.

He and Valencia were determined to extend that loan deal into this season and held talks with Tottenham throughout the summer transfer window to try and make it happen.

A deal could not be struck, and Gil ended up remaining at Tottenham, with it recently reported that Daniel Levy had closed the doors to an exit late on.

It seems that has not put off Valencia, though, with them intending to return for Gil in the January transfer window.

The website reports that Gil’s lack of playing time under Antonio Conte means that Valencia and Tottenham ‘seem fated to come to an understanding’ over a loan deal for the forward.

Gil himself is ‘crazy’ to make the return, something he has shown on social media with likes on various posts, including one on the contract renewal of his friend Hugo Guillamón.

That’s seen as a positive sign by Valencia, who are now determined to open talks again in January and try to bring Gil back to Spain.
