Fotospor claim Besiktas are set to rival Manchester City for the signature of HNK Gorica attacker Kristijan Lovric.

The Turkish website reports the 23 year old is a transfer target for Besiktas, but Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is also interested in signing the player this summer.

Besiktas reportedly see Lovric as a successor to Ryan Babel, who left the club to join Fulham during the last transfer window despite being a key player for the Super Lig side.

However, the Turkish club chose not to replace the Dutch left winger and subsequently they will look to address this in the summer, with Lovric an option.

The 23 year old has played 25 games for his club this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists.  His performances have reportedly brought him to the attention of the likes of Manchester City and Besiktas, which may result in a transfer in the next window.

Unless it’s for another club in the City group, interest from Manchester City doesn’t make a great deal of sense.

Lovric is under contract at HNK Gorica until June 2021.
