Carlos Alcaraz is still sorting the final details of his move from Southampton to Juventus.

An update on the transfer is brought by TuttoMercatoWeb, who now reports that the midfielder could not train with the Old Lady’s squad today.

It’s said that following some initial medical tests made by the player in Southampton, he now arrived at Juventus for further examinations.

Everything is going well, but there are some ‘bureaucratic paperwork’ getting in the way, and that stopped him from joining the team in the training pitch.

There are no details on what those issues are, although TMW doesn’t make it sound like that’s a major concern, as the deal has already been approved by all.

Juventus announced that they’re signing Alcaraz from Southampton on a loan deal until the end of the season, paying €3.7m for the spell, plus potential €1.9m in bonuses. Then they’ll have the option to buy him for another €49.5m, which would be paid in three years.

The midfielder now has a few months to convince the Bianconeri to make such a heavy investment, which few believe will actually be triggered with the Saints helping out in some form, such as buying Matias Soulé off the Serie A side.
