While the deal has yet to be concluded, everyone is expecting Tottenham to come out winners of the battle with Barcelona for Lucas Bergvall.

That’s been in the news for most of Friday, with it breaking in England, but Expressen in Sweden, the midfielder’s home country, bring their own fresh information about the deal.

The midfielder has already travelled to London to complete his move to Tottenham on his 18th birthday, where there is a five-year contract on the table,

The first fee Spurs will be paying is a SEK113m (€10m) initial sum, but there are a number of bonuses that can be triggered to give Djurgården some more money.

The deal overall could reach a maximum of SEK220m, which is just over €19m, and SEK50m of bonuses (€4.4m) are ‘deemed easy’ for Bergvall to achieve, with the remaining bonuses (around €5m) requiring the player ‘to be successful’ at Tottenham.

If he is, there is no doubt that Spurs will be happy to pay them, but even if he doesn’t and only the ‘simple bonuses’ are paid out, then the deal would reach SEK160m, making him the ‘most expensive sale’ from the Allsvenskan.

In short, ‘as long as nothing unforeseen happens’, the deal will be completed on Friday, after which Bergvall will leave England and team up with his current club in Gran Canaria, before returning to Tottenham in the summer to complete his transfer.
