Following Jorge Nicola’s report saying Corinthians turned down West Ham United’s two attempts to sign Wesley, there are now a few more comments to be made about that situation.
Besides his Youtube videos, the journalist was on the Os Donos Da Bola show, where he was asked about the whole scenario.
Just when Nicola had been claiming that Corinthians rejected West Ham’s two offers, host Neto asked who could be in charge of that operation at the Hammers. Their dialogue went like this.
— West Ham?
— West Ham.
— Who runs West Ham?
— Kia and Giuliano Bertolucci.
— Giuliano Bertolucci is God, man. If you want to talk to God, you talk to Giuliano Bertolucci, then you talk to God. He’ll arrange a meeting with God.
Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci are very well known in Brazil, especially at Corinthians because of the Iranian’s involvement with the Brazilian club in the mid-2000’s. Back then, he was responsible for the operations which brought Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano to West Ham, and his influence at Premier League clubs obviously only grew since then.
Continuing with the story, Nicola claims that Corinthians turned down the Hammers’ attempt because they’re expecting a bigger offer from Germany. When asked to name the interested club, he says the Brazilian side are waiting for something to arrive from either Bayer Leverkusen or Bayern Munich.
The Brazilian media, including Nicola, had first been convinced that Wesley should be sold, with claims that the Hammers’ bid was more than enough.
However, with the two great goals at the weekend, the whole situation changed, and they’re no longer putting pressure on Corinthians to accept that bid. It’s very likely the stance at the club will also be impacted, with them taking advantage of the player’s good form to try to make more money.
