It didn’t take long, only a couple of days in fact, but the German hype machine has started rolling for Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United.

The winger completed a move back to the German side earlier this week, joining on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season in an attempt to get his career back on track.

Naturally, everyone at Dortmund is rather excited at the prospect of having their former star back on the scene and it seems that’s spilling out into the media, at least if this Sky Germany report is anything to go by.

They cover Sancho today and how Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is planning to use him straight away in the trip to Darmstadt this weekend.

That’s despite the winger not featuring for Manchester United since the end of August, when he managed 30 minutes in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

Sky explain that ‘the focus’ is on Sancho and the fact he lacks match practice, therefore making it questionable how quickly he can build on his ‘glory days’ in the past at Dortmund.

However, it seems there has been some surprise behind the scenes, with reporter Jesco von Eichmann quoted as saying “according to my information, some players were even impressed by how fit Jadon Sancho was in training.”

That’s a hint he could be ready to go and make his point to Manchester United, although it feels more like hype than reality at this point.

The more rational among us will know there’s no chance Sancho is fit and ready to go after such a long time out, particularly those of us who have seen his social media activity, why has not indicated any sort of hard, fitness focused training while he’s been in exile.

Instead, this feels more like Dortmund trying to hype up his return and paint everything in a positive light, when the reality is it’s a bit of a risk which may not work out.
