Back on Friday morning, reports from the French media had been claiming that Marquinhos was about to be sent back to Arsenal by Nantes.

With the player not convincing at the Ligue 1 side, his loan spell would be broken, and he’d return to the Gunners, where he has a contract running until 2027.

Now that Arsenal officially announced his return, outlet PL Brasil features a story with some information on the player’s future, which is ‘likely far’ from the Emirates Stadium.

According to the website, the Gunners won’t be keeping him for the rest of the season. A source close to the player claimed that the London side want to loan him out to another European club.

Regarding the chances of a potential return to Brazil, the outlet claims that’s ‘very unlikely’.

Marquinhos was signed by Arsenal on a €3.5m deal from São Paulo back in 2022. He even made six appearances for the first team, but was then loaned to Norwich City and Nantes.

Now we shall see where he’ll land next, seemingly very likely on a new temporary deal.
