Since Tutto Mercato Web reported on Friday that Everton are in the race for Gabriel Barbosa from Inter Milan, several websites have been covering the news during the weekend.

Now it turns out that Portuguese newspaper Record brings a similar story on Monday, with some new details about it.

Record writes that Gabigol is ‘one of Marco Silva’s wishes’ and the negotiations between Inter and Everton are already happening, especially now the player has returned to Italy.

They say that an obstacle is the price demanded by Inter Milan, which is said to be €30m. And an alternative could be a loan with an option to buy.

It’s worth recalling that TMW’s story said Inter were demanding €15m, and didn’t want to loan the player out again.

Now there are two questions we should ask ourselves.

Why is a Portuguese newspaper interested in a Brazilian player moving from Italy to England? Because Gabigol has played for Benfica last season, and would be joining Marco Silva, a Portuguese manager who gets big attention in the local press.

And do they really have this exclusive? We don’t know about that. But since they’ve not credited the story to other outlets and have different details about the negotiations, it does sound like they’ve written this one on their own.
