Regardless of how many times Bordeaux’s new owners make it clear Francois Kamano isn’t going anywhere in January, Newcastle United keep scouting the 22-year-old.

According to Mercato365 on Monday, the Magpies were one of many clubs present again in Dijon to watch the forward in action, who had a goal ruled out after being reviewed by VAR in the 0-0 draw.

They weren’t the only ones there, however, as Burnley and Crystal Palace also sent some representatives to keep an eye on the winger, as did other prestigious clubs like Atlético Madrid and Milan.

As far as we can tell, this is the second time this month Newcastle have travelled to watch Kamano in action, having done so back on November 8th in the Europa League as he faced Zenit St Petersburg.

In fact, it wouldn’t be too crazy to suggest that this interest from Rafa Benitez’s side dates back to 2017, when La Provence reported on November 21st that Newcastle and Southampton both travelled to watch Bordeaux.

At the time, Malcom was the main attraction, but we suggested that Kamano was a far more realistic option for the two clubs present.

So far this season, the Guinea international has scored seven goals in 14 league appearances.
