At the beginning of November, it was reported in Italy that Fulham had made an approach to Chelsea for Tiemoué Bakayoko.
The midfielder hadn’t enjoyed a good start to his loan year at AC Milan and just before that time had been several claims of the club trying to send him back to Stamford Bridge during the winter transfer window, cutting the loan short and seeing if they could get any of their €5m fee back.
Even then, Fulham’s chances were slim, with Chelsea unlikely to cut short a deal which was pretty good for them financially, and could still work out.
Calciomercato claim both Fulham and AS Roma have made ‘exploratory surveys’ about signing the former AC Milan player, on loan initially.
However, the chances now are non existent, because Bakayoko has sprung into form and quickly gone from being a Milan outcast to one of the club’s most important players.
Milan have even told Chelsea they’re keen on a permanent deal, but want a discount on the €35m option they secured. That may be hard if Bakayoko continues to impress.
