The Brazilian press now confirms Arsenal’s negotiations to sign David Luiz from Chelsea.

Website UOL says the defender has an offer to join the Gunners, and now waits for a positive sign from the Blues so he can make the move.

The outlet points out the info has been originally published by Sky Sports, and was later confirmed by their own sources.

UOL also points out Arsenal currently have Edu Gaspar as director of football, so that should make things easier when bringing another Brazilian to the club.

Arsenal have already signed Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano this summer, and were also linked to the likes of Fagner from Corinthians and Everton Cebolinha from Grêmio.

The Gunners have lost two central defenders this summer, with Krystian Bielik joining Derby County and Laurent Koscielny returning to his home country to sign for Bordeaux.

So bringing in another defender and consequently weakening a city rival certainly wouldn’t be a bad move.
