Czech website Sport are reporting Manchester City have ‘serious interest’ in a rather unusual signing.
The Premier League champions are said to be keen on Oscar Dorley, who currently plays for Liberec in the Czech first division.
Sport say the 21 year old is just starting his third season with Liberec, but he may not finish the campaign there, given the interest from Manchester.
A potential transfer fee is put at around €800k, and there seems to be optimism that a deal can be done, as long as it beats the transfer deadline at 5pm on Thursday.
Sport themselves are very surprised by the potential move, stating ‘it sounds incredible, but true’.
The idea would be for Manchester City to make the signing and then loan him out to one of their partner clubs. He then either has the chance of perhaps one day making it at the Etihad, or being a good financial investment and bringing some money in for the City group.
