Earlier today, we relayed news that Manchester United are ahead in the race for Sofyan Amrabat despite Bayern Munich including the Fiorentina midfielder in their target list. It was also stated he’s already held talks with Erik ten Hag.

Although the 26-year-old’s name is on Bayern’s agenda, today’s Gazzetta dello Sport states he’s waiting only for Manchester United.

The Serie A side have sold Igor Julio to Brighton & Hove Albion and Gaetano Castrovilli is on his way to AFC Bournemouth. Gazzetta add Amrabat will likely be another Fiorentina player to move to England this summer.

Fiorentina will take on Newcastle United in a friendly fixture later today and Amrabat has been forced to miss at St James’ Park due to an injury.

Corriere dello Sport state the player would ‘gladly take the plane to England’ in the next few days to complete a move to Old Trafford.

The Morocco international’s deal expires in 2024, with an option to extend it for a year. It’s claimed the Serie A side are open to selling him to Manchester United, as long as they receive an offer of around €25-30m.

Corriere make it clear that Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso isn’t willing to lower the fee for Amrabat.
