Last Friday, Bild claimed Christopher Nkunku has already had medical tests with Chelsea in Frankfurt.

A day later, Sky Deutschland stated the Blues want the RB Leipzig star, but he has not yet made a decision on making a switch to Stamford Bridge after this season.

Since then, there have been various claims in the English and German press about the interest shown by Chelsea in the 24-year-old. It now seems like he has decided on where he wants to move next.

According to Bild, the France international ‘wants to leave’ the Bundesliga side and join the west London club next summer, when his €60m release clause will come into effect. Until then, he has to complete the campaign with his current employer.

In recent weeks, the player has seemed agitated and dissatisfied as his focus was not on the pitch. His body language wasn’t right. The report states Nkunku’s desire to join Chelsea being made public can come as a relief for him.

The Frenchman, who also trains on his off days, is considered as a top professional. The same cannot be said about Naby Keïta, who joined Liverpool from Leipzig in 2018, a year after the two clubs reached an agreement for his transfer.

In his final season, Keïta failed to build on his good form from the season before and was busy off the field. With Nkunku reportedly saying he wants to join Chelsea, Bild suggest everyone will be carefully watching him and his movements, both on and off the pitch.
