Liverpool are one of several clubs credited with an interest in FC Nordsjælland star Andreas Schjelderup.

The 18-year-old joined the Danish club’s academy from Bodø/Glimt in 2020 and was then promoted to their senior team in 2021.

He has seven goals and an assist from 11 league games this season. The forward’s displays have not gone unnoticed as reports have suggested Liverpool and others are keeping tabs on him.

VG have published an interview with both the Norway U21 international and his father, Jørn-Tommy Schjelderup, who is also his agent. It’s said the teenager ‘visited’ Liverpool during his time at Bodø/Glimt.

Claims about the Reds, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Inter and Juventus are relayed by VG, but Jørn-Tommy claims only Sevilla were a concrete option.

The La Liga side wanted to sign the teenager and send him back on loan to Nordsjælland, but this proposal was rejected by the Danish club.

“I went to Seville with a list of questions according to his preferences. There I got an insight into a club that has followed him over several years, and with a project that was very interesting to Andreas,” Jørn-Tommy explained.

With claims of Liverpool and others surfacing, Andreas says the plan has to be right for him to join Jürgen Klopp’s side or another club.

“It [next step in his career] depends on what plan the club in question has for me. League doesn’t matter that much. Now, anyway, I only focus on Nordsjælland,” the attacker said.

“I am where I want to be after two years at the club. I have taken it step by step and now I can dominate in the Super League. The team is in a very good period, and it is easy for offensive players to shine.”

Meanwhile, Bold.dk quizzed Andreas about the recent reports linking him to Liverpool and other clubs.

“When such big clubs follow, of course it gives a lot of confidence. I just have to continue my game here at the club, and then we’ll see. My goal is of course to play at the highest level, so when such big clubs come along, it gives a lot of confidence to continue,” he said.

Andreas’ current deal runs down in 2024, but he has refused to continue at Nordsjælland beyond the January window.

“I don’t know. It depends on what happens. I feel really good at FC Nordsjælland, and I continue to focus on every single training session and every single match, and that’s where my focus is right now,” the Norwegian stressed.
