Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei is set to travel to Leicester City tomorrow to undergo a medical before moving to the club on loan.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says the midfielder is closing in on joining Enzo Maresca’s squad on a season-long loan deal.

Reports yesterday indicated that Leicester had won the race for the highly rated Chelsea midfielder, who is being allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan this summer as he continues his development.

The Foxes had been battling with Genoa for his signature, but it was explained yesterday that the player had decided to stay in England and spend a season in the Championship with Leicester.

That tallied with Chelsea’s plans for the player, with the Blues believed to prefer the idea of keeping him in England and developing him there rather than letting him return to Italy, where Genoa were keen.

Di Marzio now reports that the young midfielder is set to link up with the Foxes tomorrow and undergo a medical at the club ahead of completing his move there.

The belief is that a deal for the player could be completed sooner rather than later, and Leicester will have their latest signing in their summer rebuild following relegation.
