Much has been made in recent weeks about Loic Bade’s success at Sevilla following his thoroughly miserable spell at Nottingham Forest.

Having moved to the newly promoted Premier League club last summer from French side Rennes, Bade likely had big hopes for his future. Unfortunately, with Forest signing a large number of players, some were set to miss out, and he was one of those.

Not being used at Nottingham Forest, the idea of a new loan grew in January, and Sevilla came in to have a try. The Spanish club have been having a difficult season and the choice to accept the move wasn’t as straightforward as some would imagine.

Bade considered his options and knew he had to try and get playing time somewhere. Fortunately for the footballer his nightmare has now disappeared.

Speaking to L’Equipe for their Sunday edition, he was asked to sum up his miserable time at Nottingham Forest, and told the French newspaper: “Complicated… It’s not even as if I had played and that I had not been good. But hey, in the end, it served me, it was a blessing in disguise. I had a lot of determination in me to make up for this season.”

On potentially staying at Sevilla, who have a buying option, he said: “I feel very good here, in the city and the club, so staying here, of course… Afterwards, you have to think about it at the end of the season.”
