Earlier today, we covered a couple of stories claiming some Premier League clubs are chasing Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

Outlet La Nazione said Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both in touch with the player’s agent eyeing a future move.

But it seems there’s actually another English side who went for him recently, and that’s West Ham United, according to other reports.

Calcio Mercato says the Hammers made an attempt to get Milenkovic in the summer, and their offer was turned down by Fiorentina.

It’s said the bid was worth €25m initially plus €5m in bonuses, but that wasn’t enough to convince the Serie A side, even though the player accepted West Ham’s personal offer.

Since Milenkovic’s contract expires in 2022, Fiorentina are rushing to give him a new contract and feel safer about his future.

La Nazione’s story claimed that €25m should be enough to take the defender from La Viola, but this new story from Calcio Mercato makes it look a little harder for clubs to sign him.
