Arsenal youngster Catalin Cirjan has officially been promoted to the Gunners’ first team squad, according to his representative.

Agent Catalin Sarmasan communicated on his Twitter account that the 18-year-old is now with the senior squad.

“He’s got a fantastic progress ahead of him. He’ll work hard and achieve his dreams,” said Sarmasan.

Catalin Cirjan joined Arsenal in a move from Viitorul Domnesti in the summer of 2019, when he was still just 16-years-of-age.

The midfielder, who’s still to make his official debut for the Gunners, started mostly playing for the U18 squad, and then made a few appearances for the U23 side this season.

These games for the club’s academy have been drawing the eyes from Arsenal fans, as videos of a Panenka penalty grew popular among Gunners fans recently. He has two goals and two assists in 10 appearances this season.

Now it seems it won’t take much longer for them to see Cirjan in action for the first team. He turned 18 earlier this month, and just a few days later, he had already announced that he signed a professional contract.
