The front page of Saturday’s edition of Sport reads Barcelona are ‘interested’ in Junior Firpo.

Another short report also claims it will not be easy for the La Liga winners to sign the left-back as Real Madrid and Manchester City are also keen on the 22-year-old.

Los Blancos’ interest in the defender has cooled off following Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club and the Frenchman and his side have set their sights on signing Ferland Mendy from Lyon.

However, for the Premier League winners, Junior still remains on their ‘agenda’ as Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been following the Spain U21 international ‘closely’.

Junior is managed by the former Bayern Munich manager’s brother, Pere Guardiola.

Manchester City have informed the player’s agent the English champions will match any offers the representative receives from other Premier League clubs for the Betis fullback.

It could make sense for City to look at the option of signing a left-back in the summer due to Benjamin Mendy’s injury woes since he moved to the Etihad in 2017.
