Thomas Meunier has repeatedly explained he’s a Manchester United fan, and last season he got into trouble at PSG after attending a match.

Travelling to England, the fullback was delayed on his return after weather hit his travel arrangements.

Given the Premier League club could do with a right back, and that PSG’s local media have long explained a summer sale is very possible, the pieces of a transfer fit together rather well.

Belgium’s DH are on Saturday reporting Meunier is now ‘very close’ to signing for Manchester United.

He’s had other options for a summer transfer, with clubs including Arsenal thought to be keen on the PSG player. However, DH believe those options have been rejected because of a desire to play for the Red Devils.

PSG want around €25m for their player and the transfer funds will help them balance the books ahead of any summer spending from the Ligue 1 champions.
