On April 26th, RMC Sport reported Manchester United are ready to position themselves to sign AS Monaco’s Vanderson in the summer.

Two days ago, Zero Hora stated the Red Devils have ‘outlined the bid’ to bring the right-back to Old Trafford. It was also said the Ligue 1 side want €50m to sanction his sale.

After reports in France and Brazil, Sport in Spain now cover Manchester United’s desire to land the 21-year-old when explaining Barcelona’s interest in him.

The La Liga side want to take João Cancelo on loan while Manchester City are looking to part ways through a permanent sale. The Catalan club’s idea is to postpone investing on a right-back until 2024, to sign Vanderson.

Barca have already tried signing the Brazilian in 2022 but were forced to end their pursuit after Monaco requested €60m for him. The Catalan newspaper states it won’t be easy for the Blaugrana to sign the defender in the future.

That’s because Vanderson ‘handles several offers’ from the Premier League, including ‘one from Manchester United’.

Barcelona will then have to convince the player [and his camp] to continue at Monaco for one more year. This gives Manchester United an edge over the Spanish side to get a deal done this summer.

Erik ten Hag has Diogo Dalot [who signed a new deal until 2028] and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as his two right-backs.

If either were to leave, it would make room for the Red Devils to sign Vanderson in the summer.
