Angers SCO’s Batista Mendy has emerged as a target for Everton, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer.

That’s according to L’Equipe and their report’s title reads: ‘Batista Mendy (Angers SCO) to England’.

Within the report, it’s stated the 23-year-old is followed by several clubs in the Premier League. This is when Everton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves are mentioned.

The Frenchman was mainly used as a defensive midfielder, but was also deployed in the middle of the pitch and as a centre-back last season, and made 38 appearances.

His deal lasts until 2024 and the report states he’s unlikely to continue at Angers, who are demanding €6m to part ways with the versatile player.

Mendy’s English suitors want to take advantage of Angers’ relegation from the Ligue 1 to lower the asking price. It’s not clear if the French club are willing to offer a discount.

Although L’Equipe state Mendy’s future could be in England, they don’t specify who among Everton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves are currently leading the race to sign him.
