It seems Rui Patricio’s decision to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers to join José Mourinho at Roma has gone pretty well for him.

Following his €12m move to the Giallorossi in the summer, the goalkeeper has already made 38 appearances for the club, and now gets huge praise from the Italian media.

Outlet Corriere Dello Sport features an article in which they highlight not only Patricio’s 15 clean sheets, but also the personality which gave him a leading role in Roma’s squad.

The outlet writes among Patricio’s qualities, there are the ‘many effective saves, the leadership and the confidence that he transmits to the team’. They also say he’s ‘one of the leaders of the locker room’.

That’s why they say the former Wolves goalkeeper was ‘one of the best signings of the season’, as he was able to solve a problem Roma had with Pau Lopez last season.

Patricio, who joined Wolves in a move from Sporting in 2018, spent three years at the club, with 127 appearances for the Molineux side. Now it seems his new spell at Roma could end up being just as important for his career.
