As Nottingham Forest continue with their chase for a new goalkeeper, we now get to see another name added to their wishlist.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, the Tricky Trees made contact for Flamengo’s Matheus Cunha.

It’s claimed that back on Friday, Nottingham Forest showed their interest in buying the 22-year-old and had a meeting with people from the Rio de Janeiro club.

The Reds’ representatives, however, ended up ‘frustrated’ by the outcome, as Flamengo blocked the player’s exit.

Globo Esporte writes that an offer of between €8m and €10m was mentioned in the chat, although Nottingham Forest did not submit an official bid.

Flamengo claimed they will not set a price and will let the Premier League club place their offer if they want. They also made clear they have no intention of negotiating, especially because the Brazilian transfer window has just closed and they can’t sign a replacement.

It’s worth recalling that Nottingham Forest have been linked to another goalkeeper called Matheus, who plays for Braga. Those are different players, and according to reports today, they also had a failed attempt to sign him at the weekend.
