Sky Deutschland this week features a big piece on Chelsea forward Timo Werner, telling the story from the time he shined in the Bundesliga to his current situation at Stamford Bridge.

The report recalls the striker ‘chose’ the Blues amid the many clubs who were interested in him at the time, and despite early success at the London club, he’s not playing as much as he wanted.

His exit from Chelsea has been a rumour this year, and Sky Deutschland managed to get some information on that subject. According to their sources, Werner is indeed ‘at least thinking’ about moving out of the club this summer.

However, the report points out that despite recent reports saying his wish is already to move out, they claim that’s not true. It’s said ‘he does not want to leave’, as he just thinks about it.

Sky Deutschland also point out that a transfer out of Chelsea would be ‘extremely difficult anyway’, especially because of his salary, as he currently makes €15m per season in a contract which runs until 2025.

It’s claimed that Chelsea ‘would be willing to sell him’, but demand at least €50m from interested clubs. And according to the report, a move back to the Bundesliga would be ‘basically impossible’ for that price. It’s recalled that despite Borussia Dortmund’s interest in the player, there are ‘no concrete negotiations’ as he’s ‘simply too expensive’ for the club.
