Even though we’re now getting to the final weeks of the season, Napoli are still yet to make a decision on the future of Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham Hotspur loaned the midfielder on a loan deal with a €30m or so buying option, but his performances were not yet convincing enough for the Serie A side to be sure about the purchase.

Today, Romenico La Marca had a word with 1 Station Radio (via Napoli Magazine) about the Italian club, and discussed the situation of the Spurs player.

As Napoli prepare to face Milan in the Champions League’s quarter-finals’ second leg tonight, it’s said the Tottenham loanee could have a golden chance to confirm his stay at the Serie A club.

“Ndombele could be a factor in this challenge, he’s a completely different player compared to Anguissa, less physical but who has greater dribbling skills, and this characteristic could make him a second source of play and in some way free Lobotka from the suffocating marking of Bennacer.”

“Furthermore, a great performance by Ndombele could favor his eventual stay in the blue but above all represent the real turning point of his adventure in the blue which up to now has not fully lived up to expectations”.

Ndombele has 36 appearances for Napoli this season, and that may look like enough to prove he’s an important player for them, but the fact is that he’s mostly used at the end of games.

That’s why, even if the Serie A side decide to go for a purchase, it’s more likely they’ll ask for a discount. We shall wait and see how the clubs will work that out.
