Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has told the Dutch media he holds no resentment against Ajax over his time at the club. The Dutchman has just ended his time with Ajax after joining them in the summer form Newcastle United on loan.

Voetbal International have reported on comments Krul made after making his debut for AZ last night. Krul said he hold no grudges with Ajax even though he didn’t make a senior appearance for the Dutch giants. Krul revealed his knee injury has taken more time to recovery from than he thought, but now he just wants to prove himself.

“No, at Ajax I take nothing amiss. A knee injury is just a very serious injury. The recovery has taken longer than I had hoped. Onana has just grabbed his chance. I’m still a very good goalkeeper and can’t wait to show it to everyone,” said the Newcastle loanee.

Due to Newcastle United manger Rafa Benitez bringing in Matz Sels during the summer transfer window from Gent, Krul was sent on loan to Ajax to get more opportunities.

Krul played just nine games for Newcastle United in the last campaign before his injury on international duty. However, the Newcastle United keeper’s only appearances for Ajax came in the Jupiler League with the Dutch side’s reserves.
