IFK Norrkoping defender Linus Wahlqvist has told the Swedish media offers did come in from him during the last transfer window. The youngster was linked with a move to Leeds United, following claims the Championship side were lining up a bid for him.

Speaking to Fotboll Direkt the Sweden international confirmed some big clubs were looking to sign him, and bids did come. Wahlqvist revealed these offers were declined because at this stage of his career he’s not looking to leave his current club. The 20-year-old said he has a plan, and will look to keep to it.

“I can only say I’ve received bids from fine clubs. Since I have a plan that I’ve worked for we turned these down. It’s looking good,” said the Leeds United target.

Wahlqvist has been linked with a move to Leeds United in the past six months after the Championship side’s attempts to sign the player in the last window.

There were reports during the last window that Leeds United are still interested in the player after he said he would play in the Championship. Leeds United’s recent run sees them as serious promotion contenders, and as such the club is becoming more attractive to potential signings.
