Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in Nicolò Zaniolo for over a year and reports continue to link them to the AS Roma star.

On Monday, we covered claims made in Italy that Spurs chief Fabio Paratici held talks with the winger’s agent last week.

Tottenham are not the only club looking at the 23-year-old as Juventus are also in the picture to sign him.

Quotidiano Nazionale explain it’s a two-way race between the Premier League side and the Turin club for the Italy international.

The Old Lady are closely monitoring his situation, while Tottenham would like to try a new approach with José Mourinho’s side, to carry out the operation this summer.

Juventus, who were said to be Zaniolo’s likely destination, are now focusing on carrying out exits and it’s not certain they will return for the Giallorossi attacker in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, Spurs took the first step by making a £30m bid for Zaniolo, according to the report, but their approach was turned down by Roma.

It’s claimed Antonio Conte is pushing for his compatriot’s arrival at the club.

Talks between the two clubs are ‘still open’. Having seen their initial proposal rejected, the report explains a ‘new offer’ from Tottenham could arrive ‘soon’ for Zaniolo. There’s no mention of the details of the bid Spurs plan to make for the player.
