Fenerbahce’s new boss Dick Advocaat wants Chelsea star Marco van Ginkel to solve his club’s problems in midfield, according to Sporx, Takvim and Ajansspor.

News is breaking in Turkey linking Van Ginkel with a move to the Turkish side, just after the meeting between Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim and former Sunderland boss Advocaat.

Van Ginkel can operate in both the number 8 and number 10 roles, and Advocaat believes he is the ideal solution for the Yellow Canaries ongoing problems in midfield.

Fenerbahce were previously linked with Newcastle United’s Siem de Jong before the Dutchman decided to join his brother Luuk at PSV Eindhoven. Fenerbahce reacted by quickly getting in touch with Van Ginkel, and the 23-year old midfielder would be open to the move.

Van Ginkel was signed from Vitesse Arnheim back in 2013 by current Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, but he failed to make any significant impact at Stamford Bridge.

The Dutchman spent 2014-15 season on loan at Serie-A giants AC Milan where he made 17 appearances. Last season Mark Hughes decided to sign him for Stoke, but after the signing of Gianelli Imbula they cancelled his loan contract, which resulted in Van Ginkel finishing the season at PSV.
