Tim Krul De TelegraafAjax are looking for a replacement for Jasper Cillessen, who is set to leave for Barcelona soon. The Eredivsie side have been strongly linked to Newcastle star Tim Krul, who is also keen on returning to his homeland.

It has been reported Ajax want to sign the player on loan, but the Magpies want him to sign a one-year contract extension before sanctioning a loan deal.

According to De Telegraaf on Wednesday, Ajax have reached an agreement with Newcastle over a loan deal for the Dutch international. De Telegraaf say Krul also agreed to sign a one-year contract extension, which will keep him at the club till 2018.

The Eredivisie side are now hoping Krul would be fully fit to play for them after the international break in September.

Krul has managed 185 appearances for Newcastle, and Magpies fans would be hoping for a quick return to the Premier League to have the 28-year-old back at the club next summer.
