Manchester United sent a scout to watch Atalanta duo Giorgio Scalvini and Teun Koopmeiners ahead of a potential €110m double move in the summer.

That’s according to FC Inter News, who say a Manchester United scout was at the recent clash between Atalanta and Bologna to watch the pair specifically.

They explain that Manchester United had a scout at the game to watch several players taking part in the fixture, with Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee also on the radar.

While he’s been earning rave reviews for his performances in Italy this season, though, Manchester United were actually there ‘more for’ Koopmeiners and Scalvini than him.

There’s nothing ‘really concrete’ in terms of an interest in Zirkzee at this moment in time but the interest is there, meaning a potential double switch in the summer for the other two, costing close to €110m, could be on the cards.

Those valuations come from reports elsewhere in Italy, with one at the end of February stating that United were a team to ‘watch out for’ when it comes to Scalvini, who they said had been valued at €50m.

In terms of Koopmeiners, a report earlier this week indicated that he’s on the radar for Liverpool and Atalanta are valuing the player, who is very much a star man, at €60m.

Thus it may take Manchester United at least €110m to get both, with negotiations from them sure to be focused at driving down the €50m and €60m figures already quoted.

For now they’re simply scouting the pair and watching their performances closely ahead of the apparent planned rebuild planned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team this summer.
