On February 14th, we relayed news from Italy that Manchester United have already made contact with Atalanta for Giorgio Scalvini.

The centre-back’s impressive performances for the Serie A side haven’t gone unnoticed as he’s ‘really liked’ by several clubs.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, and they have named Manchester United as one of the interested parties.

The Italy international’s deal lasts until 2028 but the report states La Dea, who are known to sell their prized assets, could cash in from his sale sooner rather than later.

AC Milan and Juventus are showing keen interest in the 20-year-old, but it’s said the Serie A duo are unwilling to meet Atalanta’s request of €50m. Therefore, the 20-year-old could make a move away from Italy, possibly in the summer.

When discussing options abroad, Calciomercato.it state ‘watch out for Manchester United’ in the race for the defender.

Last summer, Erik ten Hag’s side signed Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta, and the good ties between the two clubs could help them secure Scalvini’s services.

Along with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea also like the player. The list could grow if Scalvini he were to excel for Italy at the Euros in the summer.
