As the Italian media today talks about Joshua Zirkzee’s future, Arsenal get a mention among the possibilities.

The story comes from FC Inter News, and talks about the big battle that is being formed to sign the Bologna player in the summer.

It’s said that among the clubs who’ve been interested in him, Arsenal are named as a club who have scouted him ‘several times’.

Still, there’s no huge confidence that the Gunners are moving for his signing, because it’s said there’s ‘nothing really concrete’ from them or any other Premier League clubs, which is why Italian sides seem to be favourites at this moment in time.

The local media recently reported that Bologna could ask for as much as €80m for their striker, so that may be a factor for Mikel Arteta’s side to back down their interest.

It’s worth recalling that Arsenal have also been heavily linked to another striker, Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, who has better numbers and should cost nearly the same.

The Swedish star has 33 goals and 13 assists in 38 appearances this season, compared to Zirkzee’s 11 and six in 30 appearances, and the Portuguese media already claimed that the Lions may make a discount in his €100m release clause this summer.

Therefore, that may end up being a more attractive option for a club who are looking for a goalscorer, like Arsenal.
