Reports emerged over the weekend that Manchester City were getting closer and closer to signing 18-year-old Ante Palaversa from Hajduk Split.

The young midfielder was the subject of a €6m + bonuses offer from the Premier League club, which the Croatian side have now accepted.

Furthermore, the youngster is currently on his way to Manchester ahead of signing his contract, with a medical expected to take place on Tuesday, according to 24Sata, who spotted him at the airport ahead of his flight.

Once the deal is complete, Palaversa will return to his current club on loan for another season before joining Manchester City.

Accompanied by both his father and agent, the youngster was rather coy about the move, telling the Croatian outlet: “You have to understand, I can’t make any statements until the contract is signed”.

The 18-year-old has made 17 appearances for Hajduk Split this season, managing to score two goals along the way, in what is his first professional season after being promoted from their reserves over the summer.

It seems this one is very close to being completed.
