Tuttosport continue to have daily articles on Emre Can, somewhat bragging that their local club Juventus have won the race to sign him.
On Tuesday it’s claimed Juve have beat ‘the competition of Bayern Munich and everyone else, as well as Liverpool who were hoping for a renewal’.
Once again, it really is worthwhile pointing out that there doesn’t seem to have been any concrete Bayern interest. Had the Bundesliga champions been trying to sign Can from Liverpool then it would have been a huge story in Germany, especially given the Jurgen Klopp connection.
It was the same when Real Madrid interest was reported. The Spanish media love a transfer rumour, but there was nothing of note from any of the publications who cover Madrid on a daily basis.
Can has asked for the deal to be ‘formalised in the last week of May’, as ‘a sign of respect for his current teammates and fans’.
Liverpool fans largely gave up caring about Can renewing some time ago, and with him being injured recently it’s helped the whole thing slip from the agenda.On the injury, Tuttosport note he’s now back in training and they believe he’ll easily be ready for preseason.
