It seems Liverpool may be about to lose the race for Hacken youngster Momodou Lamin Sonko.

As reported by Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, his club have just received ‘big offers’ from Belgian sides for the 18-year-old.

The bids, which reportedly came from Club Brugge and Gent, are confirmed by Hacken chief Martin Ericsson.

“There are concrete, big offers, yes,” said sports manager Martin Ericsson.

He went on to add: “I don’t comment on any clubs. There’s a lot of speculation.”

Aftonbladet claims the bids are worth between £4.5m and £5.3m, and that means his sale could be a club record for Hacken.

The outlet even mentions Liverpool as one of the clubs who were linked to him in the past, as well as Barcelona and RB Leipzig.

Links between Sonko and Liverpool are a little more recent. Last week, the player himself claimed that due to the market speculation, some of his friends who support the Reds have been asking him to move to Anfield.

Last week, it had also been said in the Swedish media that Liverpool are one of the clubs who’ve been making ‘strong moves’ for the signing. Now it seems that unless the Reds place a bid for his transfer, he may be going to Belgium instead.
