It appears that the performances of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Serie A and the Champions League have caught the eye of Liverpool and Manchester City.

It’s no wonder the Reds took notice as the Georgia international ran the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez ragged during their encounter in the European competition, but the inclusion of Pep Guardiola’s side is new.

It isn’t surprising to see Manchester City either, to be honest, as the Premier League champions are always mentioned when it comes to the most exciting players in the league.

Both Liverpool and the Cityzens bolstered their front line in the summer with the acquisitions of Darwin Nuñez and Erling Haaland respectively, and yet that doesn’t appear to have been enough.

The recent injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have shown Jürgen Klopp how quickly things can change, and perhaps that’s why the idea of Kvaratskhelia is emerging.

As for Manchester City, they have plenty in their armoury in that position, but can you ever really have too much of a good thing?

Either way, the news comes from Calciomercato, who state via their journalist Daniele Longo that the Georgian is ‘impressing everyone’ and both Liverpool and Guardiola’s team are following him with ‘great attention’.

That doesn’t mean a transfer is feasible, but it shows how quickly he has made an impact after his transfer from Dinamo Batumi, and perhaps Napoli can try and cash in for a huge profit after initially spending just £9m on him.

Still, that’s not their aim, as they primarily want to already give him an improved contract to ward off any interest and reward him for his great performances to date.
