Back in September, rumours starting going around that Liverpool, who are seemingly always in need of a new midfielder, were interested in Ismaël Bennacer.

This all comes at the same time Milan are trying to tie the player down, which points to agent tactics in trying to get a better deal out of the Serie A side.

Still, Liverpool were mentioned, and there’s no denying that the Reds could do with a player like Bennacer going forward, especially since the Arthur Melo experiment really hasn’t worked out.

The Brazilian arrived at Anfield very late in the summer transfer window on loan from Juventus, but has spent nearly all of his time injured.

He’s now out for the foreseeable future, and it appears that someone, perhaps Liverpool, is trying to lure Bennacer to England, trying to convince him to return to the Premier League after his spell at Arsenal.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim ‘there is distance’ between the player and Milan when it comes to a renewal.

The Italians ‘have planned to increase’ the wages up to €3.5m, including bonuses, while ‘there would be, conditionally, a proposal on the table from the Premier League of around €4m plus bonuses’.

No one is named, but if Liverpool have been keen and can see an opportunity there, perhaps they are currently trying to take it.
