With a series of claims since the summer about Virgil van Dijk moving to Liverpool in the January transfer window, the past few days has seen some reports wanting to jump the gun on a done deal.

As potential transfers go, Van Dijk moving to Liverpool is a pretty good gamble to takea chance reporting as an agreed deal, but it doesn’t look like everything is agreed with Southampton or the player yet.

Calciomercato report that agents representing Van Dijk have contacted Juventus about a possible transfer, but the Italian club are stepping aside.

It’s explained that whilst the Turin club appreciate the Southampton star and view him as a good defender, they simply wouldn’t pay the figures being suggested.

Juventus have no intention of competing with Liverpool on the offer front, and Calciomercato believe Van Dijk’s next destination is likely to be in England.

There’s no wish to tussle with Liverpool and pay an over inflated Premier League price.
