Sky Italia have kicked up something of a fuss with a claim Arsenal want to sign Mehdi Benatia from Juventus.

Benatia has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League during his career, and it’s certainly not the first time Arsenal have been thrown into the mix.

Arsenal have a €40m offer for Benatia, according to the Sky Italia claims, and it’s added that Juventus have flatly refused the approach. Not only that, the Turin club aren’t interested in selling at all, they don’t want to negotiate a deal.

That’s led to various other claims in Italy, where it’s clearly felt Arsenal’s €40m is a good amount.

Calciomercato call it a ‘monster’ offer and say the club have changed their attention from Daniele Rugani to his Juventus teammate.

ITA Sport Press say Arsenal are ‘ready’ to make the signing with the big offer, ahead of the January transfer window.

TMW call Arsenal’s €40m an ‘important offer’, but rule out a move, saying Benatia is simply not for sale.
