West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has opened the door to return to his homeland or Brazil, although he insists he is happy at the London Stadium for now.

The Argentine midfielder has been a regular for the Hammers since arriving, originally on loan, from Al-Jazira in 2015.

That season saw him shine with a series of impressive performances, with West Ham paying £10.8m the following summer to make the move permanent.

He’s been a mainstay in the side since then but has found himself out of favour under David Moyes this season, managing just 13 appearances, one start and 402 minutes of football in the Premier League thus far.

That is less than ideal for the 28-year-old, who would have been hoping to play a more active role in what is turning out to be a fantastic season for the Hammers.

He, though, insists he is happy at West Ham for the time being, although has not ruled out returning to either Argentina or Brazil after playing in both countries earlier in his career.

“River is the club where I was created, where thank God I had the opportunity to play,” he told IG Sport.

“Who knows, in the future, I may return, but today I am happy here at West Ham.

“Returning to Brazil would also be an option. At Fluminense, they treated me so well, the fans, very kind people. I was happy there, and maybe one day I’ll come back.”
