The Spanish media continue to report that Kevin Gamiero is being edged towards the exit door in January.
Despite a very brief reprieve, and the Frenchman insisting Atletico Madrid will have to make it clear to him he’s not wanted, the odds are still on the club attempting a sale.
For England, that means Everton links. The Merseyside club clearly need a striker, and Gameiro is likely to be one of a small number available during January.
In October, Everton were described as being ‘very interested’ in the striker, and quite often are the only club mentioned in reports about a potential winter move.
Should Atletico really make efforts to push Gamiero out then it’s likely other interest will surface too, providing more competition to Everton, and Lille.
